Darren currently holds the record for shortest service in the sixth circle – four minutes! Gav originally met him through his friend Nathan – Darren was a friend of Becca, Nathan’s wife. They hit it off through a shared love of Super Furry Animals and, a few years later when Darren’s band Cat Matador were looking for a gig in Leicester, we spoke with our promoter Will and sorted out a night at The Pavillion. With Gav’s bass looking unloved during our performance of All I Want, Darren jumped on stage, picked it up and joined in. One song was enough for him though and he soon headed back to the bar, ending his band membership.
