In Norway, calling a guitar an “axe” isn’t just a clever metaphor. For Anders Thorson, born in Oslo and now lead singer and lead guitarist of the band Thundersnow, his guitar is an axe cutting through modern music’s obsession with celebrity, X-Factor winners and twee indie pop.
Formed in the early noughties, Thundersnow have been a part of the burgeoning Norweigen Heavy Metal scene for many years. Mixing the sound of the progenitors of the genre such as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath with later, more industrial styles such as Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, Thundersnow have a unique sound.
The band have stated that their dream is to play at “Knebworth in England” or at Donnington. With the forthcoming release of their new album, it’s only a matter of time before such dreams become a reality.
