Blind Faith

I followed her wading in the water
She just went like Moses taught her
And she swam to the fishing boat
The one her brother rowed

With her soft lips that never speak
Because words can’t reach that deep
And nothing, nothing seemed wrong
But now, oh now she’s gone

I’m left against the edge of the night
This loneliness I try to fight
These absences in my mind
And dark’s got hold of the light
At the edge of the night

My time comes and goes too soon
I miss her lying beneath the moon
I don’t know where she went
It all just seemed so heaven sent

I feel her in the stars overhead
I feel her in the emptiness of my bed
In the dark of the gathering clouds
In the loneliness of the crowd

I’m left against the edge of the night
This loneliness I try to fight
These absences in my mind
And dark’s got hold of the light
At the edge of the night

Threw my questions ‘gainst the sky
Still stood waiting for my reply
But I’ve got a feeling like a moth to a flame
Fire whispering her name

I still miss something or someone
It could be her but I could be wrong
Looking for a saviour for my mind
I wasn’t built for this searching not to find

I’m left against the edge of the night
This loneliness I try to fight
These absences in my mind
And dark’s got hold of the light
At the edge of the night

I’m left against the edge of the night
This loneliness I try to fight
These absences in my mind
And dark’s got hold of the light
At the edge of the night
